  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 1 yellow onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic medium and finely minced
  • 4 cups diced tomatoes good quality canned
  • 3/4 cup red wine
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Mykonos Blend – Tomato Sauce Seasoning

Step by Step Instructions to make Greek Tomato Sauce

Step 1

Sauté the onion and garlic in butter for 2-3 minutes until translucent.

Step 2

To the sauteed onion and garlic mixture, add diced tomatoes, red wine, chopped parsley, and Mykonos Blend – Tomato Sauce Seasoning. Combine all ingredients and stir well.

Step 3

Over medium heat, bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes. Every 10 minutes, give the sauce a quick stir.

Step 4

The sauce can be prepared ahead of time and kept refrigerated for up to five days.
